ATTAPULGITE CLAY STORAGE

Since all clays are mildly hydroscopic, it is important to store the bags in a covered and climate controlled environment. Our clay is packaged at the mine in a way that ensures the clay does not absorb moisture during transit or short storage periods at the customer’s site.

For on-site inventory, we recommend limiting storage to 6 months for standard products and three months for specialty low moisture clays.

Subjecting the products to intermittent freezing and thawing is not recommended.

Additional care should be taken not to store the clay next to chemicals giving off evaporating compounds, as the clay readily absorbs certain vapors.
